“We visited Edinburgh for the Scotland/England Six Nations Game and found ourselves based at the Mercat. What a great place! The staff were very helpful and made everyone feel very welcome. The food was very good and reasonably priced considering you are in the centre of Edinburgh. Although there are many places to eat and drink around here I cannot see any reason why I would go anywhere else when the Mercat is as good as this. “The food was really remarkable, in that from the outside you'd never expect the quality and remarkable experience it provides. The reference to "Cheers" is real, within maybe two minutes, the bar and waiting staff were like old friends recommending both menu items and a variety of whisky to 'give a go'. I noticed on my return visit (yes I returned the next four nights of my visit) that the Mercat is an award-winning restaurant and in my opinion very deserved.

“I have just spent most of the weekend in the Mercat! The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble! To look after a group of 25 guys can't be easy but they made it look easy!
