Our flash new kitchen cooker is just right for rustling up everything from a storm in a teacup, to a banquet for a band of brothers. On the subject of openings - are you heading out east anytime soon? No, not Asia, East Lothian! Have you tried our new sister location - the Mercat Bar and Grill in Whitecraig, near Musselburgh? You'll find the same friendly service, and maybe even a few same friendly faces too, in an relaxing, edge of town setting. It's a great stop after a day out in East Lothian, or before a day at the races.

We like to have some fun at The Mercat, so this month we’re giving away our specially branded Mercat pens (reserved for special people like your good selves)! Once you’ve got your pen we want you to take it out and about with you, snap some pics of you with your Mercat pen in interesting locations, countries or with people e.g. a celebrity or high profile bod you’ve just spotted on the street!
Simply post them on our Facebook page with a brief description, we’ll select the best one and the winner will receive dinner for two! Simples…. Here’s our wee example, I met the rather famous chef Marco Pierre White at The Restaurant Show in London last month, so out came the Mercat pen, iphone and voila!!
Wine And Dine Is Sublime
Make a date with our new Wine List on Saturday 20 April, all starting at 1.30, with a sit-down at 2pm. We're having a wine washed lunchtime in the West End.
We're celebrating some splendid new varieties from the New World , and some of the best traditional vintages returning to the Mercat, so we're running another special afternoon you'll not want to miss, hosted this time by the expert Damien from Wood Winters the wine specialists, and our own Graham, who's speciality is hosting brilliant wine lunches. It's the ideal double act.
