Since launching The Mercat Bar & Restaurant in 2005, our aims remain unchanged.  We consistently deliver good old-fashioned service, delicious dishes made from top-quality seasonal produce (all locally sourced whenever possible) together with an impressive selection of very quaffable wines!

We’re true believers in the saying ‘to do a simple thing exceptionally well brings success’…

Our food and drink represents great value for money.  Add our quality ales, beers and spirits, first-class coffees, teas and free Wi-Fi into the mix and we really have something special to offer everyone.

We also have an excellent private function area which is fully licensed with its own bar.  We can deliver exceptional parties through to business breakfast meetings, catering for anything from six to 100 people.  And being the customer-driven bunch we are, we’re very flexible on timings and we’ll go out of our way to accommodate your requirements.
